iJAS International Joint Accreditation Award Ceremony - Making the First Debut in Tokyo

2019-12-12

JUAA (Japan University Accreditation Association) and TWAEA (Taiwan Assesssment and Evaluation Association) have both conducted the “iJAS International Joint Accreditation Award Ceremony” for the first time. After the Taipei session came to an end, JUAA awarded certificates to Akita International University (Japan) and Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science (Taiwan) during the annual conference held by JUAA in Tokyo on 1st December 2019.

The universities that have passed the iJAS International Joint Accreditation can more actively promote the mobility of globalization, including students studying abroad, the recruitment of outstanding scholars from overseas, mutual exchanges among personnel and other international activities. With this international certification, universities can have the opportunity to expand sister schools and establish dual degrees to integrate further into international markets, recruit international students, move towards the international arena, enhance international competitiveness and visibility, and strengthen global links, thereby fully implementing the “Win-Win Choice.”

Outstanding school performance and excellent teacher qualifications give higher education an edge. However, facing the challenges of drastic competitive environment, universities must find their own characteristics and innovate to establish their own “brand,” gain international recognition, and demonstrate performance to create their own niche in the global higher education arena. Getting the iJAS International Joint Accreditation is the best demonstration of international recognition.

Looking forward, in addition to assisting universities and colleges in Japan and Taiwan, the “iJAS International Joint Accreditation Project” will more actively assist the Asian countries in concretely enhancing student learning achievement, thus ensuring Asia’s higher education quality, as well as creating the co-existence and co-prosperity of the Asian economies.
