Background

With the changes of the economy and social environment, nuclear family has become the mainstream at the present; therefore, not only the number of the family member has decreased, but also the living space has become much smaller. As the lying- in women always need special care for their diets, especially during postpartum period, the demand for postpartum center is then increased.

Due to the change of demographic structure, social formation and value, the role of postpartum center has also transformed from traditional caring center to professional one. The postpartum center has then become an industry to work with professional medical industry to not only meet the trend of the society, but also been customized to the consumers’ needs.

In order to assist the postpartum centers to improve their quality and promote their characteristics through the implementation of assessment, TWAEA has specifically planned an accreditation project to encourage the postpartum center to have a benchmark model and quality-management mechanism. Hopefully a professional and comfortable postpartum center can be developed to ensure the lying-in women’s safety and health.

Through the implementation of the accreditation made by the third party, the followings are the goals we want to accomplish.

  • Base on the residents’ needs to ensure their rights and interests
  • Base on the quality to create an excellent nursing environment
  • Base on the literal implementation to supervise the management improvement
  • Base on the industry itself to perfect the development of the caring system

In the future, we shall expand our vision to the global to be the pioneer in the field of Nursing Center Accreditation to assist the centers to enhance their quality.
