The 2019 ONESQA International Forum was held on November 30 in Bangkok, Thailand, under the theme "Quality Assurance for Education Quality Enhancement in the 21st Century." The forum focused on key global issues in education quality assurance. TWAEA Director, Dr. Jimmy C.Y. Yung, was specially invited as a panel speaker to share insights on higher education quality assurance systems, providing an overview of Taiwan’s education landscape and future outlook. The event also featured in-depth discussions and exchanges on quality assurance practices.

From November 21 to 23, 2019, the European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF) was held at Technische Universität Berlin (TU Berlin), Germany. TWAEA specially appointed Assistant Researcher, Mr. Jan Fell, to attend the event. This year’s forum introduced a new theme: "Supporting the Social Engagement of Higher Education." The event brought together 520 representatives from 25 countries, featuring discussions where Spain, Ireland, Croatia, and France shared their institutional experiences. TWAEA was the only QA agency from East Asia in attendance.

A delegation of 23 university presidents from South Korea visited Taiwan for the 2019 UCN Presidents' Summit - Taipei Session, a summit for Korean specialized universities. TWAEA Chairman, Dr. Shen-Li Fu, was specially invited as a distinguished guest.

Professor Yi-Chen Lan, Vice President of Western Sydney University, Australia, was invited to Taiwan to share the university’s experience in implementing teaching quality assurance. His talk focused on how institutions can integrate innovation and technology into teaching and learning, enabling the evaluation of teaching effectiveness and ensuring educational quality through a comprehensive approach.

His talk provided an in-depth discussion on Australia's higher education landscape, recruitment strategies for New Southbound countries, and international development experiences, offering valuable perspectives on global engagement and institutional growth.

Professor Tamotsu Tokunaga from the University of Tsukuba, Japan, was invited to share insights on university management and Institutional Research (IR) development by examining the current state of higher education in Japan. Through Taiwan-Japan international exchange, the session aimed to help institutions identify challenges in university governance, explore strategies for improvement, and establish a solid foundation for institutional research, maximizing its benefits for academic and administrative advancement.

Dr. Kyosuke Nagata, President of the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA), and Dr. Namon Jeerungsuwan, Director of the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA), Thailand, were invited to Taiwan to engage in discussions with local experts and scholars. The discussions focused on three major topics: "University Reform," "The Development of Evaluation Systems and the Future Vision of Educational Frameworks," and "The Future Direction of Higher Education Development." Through these exchanges, participants explored strategies to enhance higher education governance, improve accreditation systems, and shape the future of education.
