Establish Broader
Perspective. Motivate Fundamental Innovation.
In addition to work with Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA) and the Office of National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) in 2018 for International Joint Accreditation, Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA) also actively extended the scope of international cooperation in Europe. On 10th of July, 2018, International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) was invited for further discussion in the future and MOU signing.
The quality of Germany’s higher technical education has always been learned from Taiwan's technological and vocational education. Therefore, TWAEA hopes to lead Taiwanese institutions to be in line with the European Union after signing the MOU with FIBAA, and further provides substantial assistance in our higher education in the near future.
FIBAA is one of the internationally renowned accreditation associations. Founded in 1994, it is a quality assurance association jointly run by universities and industrial associations from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. FIBAA conducts cross-border international accreditation in European countries, and mainly deals with economics, commerce, social sciences, law and etc. FIBAA is also an accreditation association recognized by the Akkreditierungsrat, Accreditation Council.
In addition to Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, FIBAA also receives applications for program accreditation from the United States, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, and etc. This year, 60 institutions and 700 degree programs have been accredited and in the process, FIBAA provided beneficial suggestions and issued FIBAA certification. In recent years, the FIBAA certification has become an indicator of quality for students, industries and society, and become prestigious in Europe and many other countries.
Besides introducing Taiwan’s higher education quality assurance mechanism, TWAEA also would like to create a new perspective for future cooperation between two associations. At present, TWAEA has cooperated with international accreditation associations from Japan, Thailand, Russia, Hong Kong and Macao in Asia, New Zealand in Australia, Croatia and Germany in Europe. In the future, we look forward to opening up different international perspectives for Taiwan's higher education, and create more opportunities for cooperation in transnational certification. We will assist universities and colleges in grasping the opportunities and advantages to face future challenges and changes.
