The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA) successfully shared its pioneering experience as the first quality assurance (QA) agency worldwide to receive formal recognition from the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) under its newly introduced International Standards & Guidelines (ISGs).

TWAEA’s Chairman, Dr. Jimmy C.Y. Yung, was invited by the Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education (OAAAQA) to present at the international webinar, "The Benefits of INQAAHE Recognition: The Taiwanese Experience," held on February 26, 2025. The event brought together QA professionals, higher education leaders, and policymakers, providing a platform to exchange insights on the significance of INQAAHE recognition in strengthening quality assurance systems.

During his presentation, Dr. Yung highlighted TWAEA’s rigorous journey toward meeting INQAAHE’s ISGs, detailing key reforms, institutional improvements, and the broader impact of recognition on Taiwan’s higher education sector. He also emphasized how INQAAHE recognition enhances international trust in Taiwan’s QA framework, fostering greater collaboration and mobility for institutions and students alike.

The webinar also featured insights from Mr. Fabrice Hénard, CEO of INQAAHE, who provided an overview of the INQAAHE recognition process and the strategic importance of ISGs in shaping quality assurance standards worldwide.

TWAEA remains committed to advancing quality assurance in higher education through continuous improvement and international collaboration. This recognition serves as an encouragement for TWAEA to continue refining its practices and contributing to global discussions on quality assurance.

TWAEA has worked hard to promote the professional knowledge and skill related to accreditation and also the provision of accreditation services. To enhance the quality in higher education is always the mission of TWAEA. In recent years, TWAEA not only has started to join the members of the international accreditation organizations, but also worked closely with professional associations in Japan, Thailand, Europe, Russia, New Zealand, Croatia, Hong Kong and Macau for further cooperation.
