TWAEA SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDES THE 6TH TP-TFL THAI PROFICIENCY TEST IN 2026

The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), in collaboration with Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, successfully concluded the 6th TP-TFL Thai Proficiency Test in April 2026. Thanks to overwhelming interest from applicants, the Kaohsiung and Taipei test sessions, held on April 23–24 and April 25–26, respectively, were both fully subscribed. The examinations were conducted under the personal supervision of Dr. Cherdchai Udomphan, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and Dr. Wimonmas Paruchakul, Director of the Thai Language Center, both from Prince of Songkla University. Candidates demonstrated strong performance in the listening, speaking, and reading components, reflecting their dedication and enthusiasm for learning the Thai language.

The examination also received support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Taipei Office. Ms. Sarima Chindamat, Director of the TAT Taipei Office, attended the Taipei test session and remarked that the TP-TFL serves not only as an important benchmark for assessing one's Thai language proficiency, but also enhances professional competitiveness and creates broader opportunities for international engagement in tourism, academia, and other related fields.

This year's test attracted a diverse group of candidates, including university students, professionals working between Taiwan and Thailand, and individuals preparing for careers in the tourism industry. All test sessions reached full capacity. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many candidates commented that the TP-TFL is a highly professional and rigorous proficiency assessment, providing valuable recognition of their language abilities for future academic planning, university applications, and career development. They also praised the speaking examiners for their professionalism and approachable manner, noting that the well-structured questions and supportive guidance enabled them to express themselves more naturally and confidently.

The 6th TP-TFL Thai Proficiency Test has now concluded successfully. Bilingual certificates in English and Thai are scheduled to be issued from late May. The TP-TFL is administered annually, and prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the Thai Language Proficiency Test section of the TWAEA website for future examination announcements. TP-TFL results are recognized by educational institutions and employers in Thailand and also satisfy the foreign language proficiency exemption requirements for Taiwan's Tour Guide and Tour Manager Certification Examination administered by the Tourism Administration, Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
