On December 3, 2025, TWAEA hosted a delegation from the Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University–Ho Chi Minh City (CEA VNU-HCM) for professional exchange on higher education quality assurance. TWAEA shared the development of Taiwan’s accreditation system, institutional and program evaluation procedures, indicator transformation, reviewer selection and training mechanisms, and the design principles of its revised international joint accreditation standards, including the integration of SDGs and digital transformation. CEA VNU-HCM also introduced Vietnam’s accreditation framework, standards, and recent policy reforms, fostering mutual understanding of system design and implementation.

The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), in collaboration with JUAA and ONESQA, conducted on-site observation and professional exchange in Japan under 2025 International Internship Program. TWAEA representatives observed institutional and program-level accreditation practices through direct engagement in site-visit activities, gaining first-hand insight into Japan’s quality assurance system. The itinerary included institutional evaluation at Shibaura Institute of Technology, program accreditation in public health at Teikyo University, and exchanges with the Japan Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (JABEE). The visit strengthened understanding of outcome-based and evidence-informed QA practices and further advanced professional dialogue among Asian quality assurance agencies.

The Taiwan Assessment and Evaluation Association (TWAEA), in partnership with JUAA and ONESQA, has launched the second International Internship Program in summer 2025. The program combines online and on-site activities, including participation in a Japanese accreditation case study conference to explore Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) practices and the assessment of student learning outcomes. An on-site observation visit to Japan is scheduled for October, enabling interns to engage directly with accreditation operations. The program aims to strengthen cross-national professional exchange, build QA capacity, and advance sustained collaboration among Asian quality assurance agencies.

On January 22, 2025, TWAEA held an online staff exchange with the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) to strengthen dialogue and collaboration in higher education quality assurance. The exchange covered Taiwan’s and Germany’s accreditation systems, external quality assurance mechanisms, and reviewer training processes, emphasizing the importance of capacity building and accreditation standards. Additionally, both organizations shared insights on international accreditation procedures, aiming to deepen future collaboration and enhance the global competitiveness of Taiwan’s higher education institutions.

Three colleagues from TWAEA participated in the 10th Exchange Program organized by Thailand's Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) alongside representatives from the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA). The program focused on in-depth discussions on topics such as the Qualification Framework and international trends in quality assurance, exploring the positioning and future development of educational evaluation.

The 2023 International Internship Program, organized by TWAEA, took place from December 18 to 22, with international interns visiting Taiwan for on-site observation and exploration. A closing ceremony was held on December 23, during which interns from the three participating parties presented their experiences and outcomes from the program, marking a successful conclusion to this year's activities.

The 2023 International Internship Program, organized by TWAEA, commenced with an online orientation on August 17. In conjunction with TWAEA's implementation of the Ministry of Education's evaluation plan for technological universities and colleges, three online exchange activities were held on August 23, October 2, and October 30. From December 18 to 22, international interns will visit Taiwan for on-site observation and exploration. This hands-on experience in Taiwan's evaluation processes for technological universities and colleges aims to deepen professional exchanges and collaborative relationships among international partners.

This initiative aims to enable staffs from the three organizations to gain in-depth involvement in various evaluation processes, allowing them to understand the higher education evaluation systems and practices in Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand. The first exchange activity, hosted by TWAEA, included an online briefing session for reviewers held on October 30, 2023.
