TWAEA and JUAA jointly promoted the iJAS International Joint Accreditation Project and held the first-ever iJAS International Joint Accreditation Award Ceremony on October 26, 2019, in Taipei, Taiwan. During the ceremony, accreditation certificates were officially awarded to Chia Nan University of Pharmacy & Science (Taiwan) and Akita International University (Japan). Both TWAEA and JUAA chairpersons attended the event in person, while the presidents of the accredited universities led their delegations to receive public recognition and commendation for this milestone achievement.

TWAEA and JUAA accompanied three Japanese reviewers and two Taiwanese reviewers on a one-day on-site visit to the institution. The visit included a school introduction, a campus tour, interviews with faculty, staff, and students, and discussions between the institution and the review team. The process concluded with a consensus-based decision on the accreditation outcome by the reviewers.

Mr. Lars Weber, International Director of the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA), was invited to Taiwan to deliver a talk on "Taiwan Higher Education Moving Towards Europe." He shared insights on the characteristics of German higher education and the benefits of Taiwan-Germany international joint accreditation.

TWAEA, in collaboration with the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA) and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA) of Thailand, is jointly promoting international joint accreditation for higher education institutions, with universities in Taiwan, Japan, and Thailand as the primary focus of the initial phase.
